Center for International Port Policy

OCDI established the “Center for International Port Policy (CIPP)” to strengthen its research capacity on port policies in foreign countries, and to enhance international exchange between foreign researchers.
CIPP makes full use of the experience and expertise acquired by OCDI through research and studies.
The major activities of CIPP are as follows:

Research and Studies on Port Policy

  • International port security and environmental countermeasures
  • Integrated international multi-modal transport
  • Policy proposals on port cooperation at APEC port specialist conferences
  • Policy proposals on international logistics at the Northeast Asian port director conferences
  • Proposals on Japan-ASEAN transport sector cooperation
  • Participation in related international conferences

Fact Findings and Analysis

  • Development of basic international port database(cargo volume OD, port tariff, data of vessel size, etc.)
  • System analysis on extensive international logistics
  • Analysis of port tariffs

International Exchange

  • Development of human networks and human resouce database
  • International exchange between researchers and specialists
