JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program (KCCP) Country Focused ”Strengthening the capacity to formulate policies to enhance the value of the Trans-Caspian International Transportation Corridor (green logistics)”

OCDI conducted the JICA Country Training Program, “Strengthening the capacity to formulate policies for enhancing the value of the Trans-Caspian International Transportation Corridor (green logistics)” from November 4th to November 17th, 2025.

The training program aimed to strengthen policy formulation capabilities necessary to improve logistics operations and enhance competitiveness along the Caspian Sea route through lectures on logistics efficiency and greening at Japanese ports. Sixteen port officials from four countries, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan, participated in lectures at JICA Yokohama and field visits to the ports of Kobe and Yokohama.

After completing the training program, the course participants shared the following comments.

・I was impressed by the implementation of CNP (Carbon Neutral Port: decarbonization of ports) measures using hydrogen fuel.

・The lecture on international logistics corridors provided valuable insights into logistics corridors in other regions, such as Africa.

・I will work on congestion countermeasures using IT, introduce transport quality management standards, expand information-sharing systems with neighboring countries and other agencies, and streamline common procedures.
