The Japan Indonesia EPA Port Seminar held in Indonesia
The Japan Indonesia EPA Port Seminar, organized by the Ports and Harbours Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure,
Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and Directorate General of Sea Transportation (DGST) with support from OCDI, was held over three days from July
2nd to 4th in Jakarta. This seminar aimed to enhance the Indonesian government’s administrative capabilities in the port sector. It featured eight
lecturers from Japan, including representatives from Port and Harbours Bureau of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT),
National Institute for Land and Infrastructure Management (NILIM), Port and Airport Research Institute (PARI), Specialists Center of Port and
Airport Engineering (SCOPE), The Overseas Coastal Area Development Institute of Japan (OCDI). Training was provided to 175 participants,
primarily senior-level management officials and staff from the Directorate General of Sea Transportation (DGST) of the Indonesian Ministry of
Transportation, both in person and online. The training covered Japanese port operation and management, port planning, CNP formation, port
construction works, maintenance and management, port design standards, and disaster prevention measures.
