Viet Nam’s Country-Specific Training Program “”Port Technical Standards” Successfully Held
The JICA Country-Specific Training Program for Viet Nam “Technical Assistance Project on the Development and Dissemination of Technical Standards for Seaport facilities (Phase 1)” took place over 12 days from May 12 to May 23, 2025.
Four trainees from the Vietnam Maritime and Waterway Administration visited Japan to enhance their knowledge on policies and initiatives related to port technical standards in Japan through lectures and site visits. They also learned about the involvement of research institutes and various organizations in developing port technical standards, and port facility maintenance and management initiatives introduced by port authorities. It is hoped that the knowledge acquired during this training program will enable them to proactively revise and update the port technical standards, manuals, and design case
studies to be created in this project.
